Poor Laynee!

A rough day yesterday for Layna bug! She is trying to walk to things and ends up falling face first into stuff. First the coffee table= split lip and cut gums. Then the dog knocked her over=black eye(not really that bad, can just barely see the bruise) then she goes face first to the ground trying to get to the couch= re-open lip. Later 2 bonks on the back of the head. Fell onto a heater(that was not on) re-open gums. Plus a new tooth just popped through (#5) and #6 should be close behind....Lets hope today is much better!!

Family Haircut Day!

After much debate it was finally time to trim Layna's mullet that when wet was halfway down her back. I trimmed a few inches off the back and only needed to trim a little off the sides. although one side curls and one side doesn't it kind of looks uneven so I may need to do a few more snips here and there.
It was a family haircut day. I gave myself bangs in the morning while I was getting ready for work. Then after Jake got off work I cut his (he wanted a 2 all over then he realized how short a 2 is..oops!) Then trimmed Layna's hair while she sat on Dada's lap.

She is wearing her hand me down Cabela's camo overalls from her 2nd cousin Eli

I of course had to save a snippet of her hair. That is why there is an envelope!

Don't we look great? Its nice to be a hairdresser I can take care of the whole family! (I couldn't figure out how to get this picture right side up..I am still a blog in progress!)

11 months old!

Layna and Banjo. She loves to climb on him, LOVES to play with his tail and taste it!

He is a very patient older brother...but he does whack her with his tail or bump her over sometimes.

Mother's Day. Daddy reading Layna her favorite Elmo book!

This is my 11 month old! I said say cheese and she said AHHHHHH! So cute!

Here she is looking for the kitties at Nana's house. They eat right outside this door and she loves to look for them and watch them.

Layna currently knows and does 4 signs. More, All Done, Doggy, and Milk. Nana and I are working on lots more signs with her but she has only done those 4 so far. We are building quite the vocabulary in American Sign Language....mostly animals and things pertaining to eating.

Layna also can point out animals in books like kitties and birdies. She took 3 steps the other night which is the most she has done so far! Nana and I took her to the pool the other day. She was apprehensive at first, it has been a while since we've gone swimming, but after a few minutes she was having lots of fun..my little fishy! I am busy planning her 1st birthday party and can not believe it is time for that already!

Hoppy Easter!

Here are the dyed eggs I colored. It was a grocery outlet dye kit and I was not too thrilled about it but did enjoy coloring some of our own hen's eggs.

Layna's Easter Basket from Mama and Dada

mEGGa easter egg hunt at the fair with Dada

Attempting to get a shot of Layna and her 2nd cousins at the egg hunt

Here are some of our at home easter pics that Jake and I took. This is Bun Bun our bunny who surprisingly was great with Layna even through the fur and ear pulling and was happy to sit still for the pics!

Bun Bun

Layna had sucked on a pink peep so that is why it looks like she's wearing lipstick. This was our Easter card.

Here she is takin a lick of the pink peep. I don't encourage sugar but for the sake of getting the shot I let her try one and she didn't care for it much.

Sick Days!

Early last week Jake came home with a flu bug and generously shared it with Layna and me. I had to call in sick 2 days to re-coop at my mom's while she watched Laynee Bug. It is still hanging on but we are so much better. Also Sunday Shelli, Callie, Stacey, and I did the Bridge to Brews in Portland. It was a 8k/10k run/walk that took us over the Fremont Bridge and around Portland. We all did very well and it was a nice day for it too....no rain!!!!!! Jake has been busy working outside since the weather has been cooperating. He is clearing trees and brush and picking up the straw that was over the grass seed he planted in the fall. There is still lots of work on our property to do but it is coming along nicely. No pictures today bit I will be posting Layna's Easter picture that you will NOT want to miss later this week! Happy Monday!!

A day at Nana's

Layna is 10 months old! This is her most recent picture. This is last night I was capturing her crazy post nap hair! She loves her Dada!
I am currently working 3 days a week at The Hair Clinique in Scappoose. While at work or the gym Layna's Nana (Sally , my mom) watches her. Here are some pictures.

This is her 3 in 1 bike Nana and Papa got her for Christmas. She was playing with just the top part but is finally big enough to get on it. Although her dismount needs improvement
She goes giddy up and kicks her legs like she's riding a horse.
Here she is saying Nana let me out!!
Its really a doggy gate. This is Jackee who she loveingly pats a little too hard
Nana and Layna

Aunty Meli works just a few blocks from Nana's house so she comes to visit Layna after work if we are still in town
She loves to use this walker to get all over Nana's including under the table which she thinks is pretty funny! She is almost too big for it now!

Not pictured: Layna reads lots of books at Nana's and loves to look outside for the Kitties. She gets very excited if she does see one! She goes for walks when the weather cooperates and has a jumperoo that she loves to jump in!
